Garlic-Oregano Infused Oil Health Benefits

Happy New Year! While we wish all health and wellness for the new year, there are a number of illnesses going around. One of our sons informed me that he and his lovely bride have the flu. Our youngest came in to snuggle me and felt feverish - yep, a 102F fever.

Here is what I told our son to do and am doing for our family:

Infused Healing Oil:

Garlic-Oregano Infused Oil
  • Crush cloves of garlic and leave on the counter for 15 minutes.
  • In a clean jar, add 1 cup of a good-quality oil (olive, avocado, or grape seed oil)
  • Add dried oregano. (I added 1 Tablespoon +)
  • I also added dried turmeric.
  • I added cayenne pepper to the oil. (About 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon depending on heat tolerance and if you have children.)
  • After the garlic sits out oxidizing for 15 minutes, I will add that to my oil, seal, and shake well. I will allow it to rest for 8 hours or more.
Put a few tablespoons in ramekins or finger bowls for each person. Add a pinch of salt and some freshly ground black pepper and stir. Use flat bread dippers.

Garlic and oregano are antimicrobial. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory. Cayenne pepper helps heat the body to help your body fight the infection.
